It is estimated that panel prices will remain stable across the board in September.
On September 5th, TrendForce (a market research firm) released its panel price forecast for September: In September 2025, it is estimated that the prices of TV, display, and laptop panels will remain stable.
TV panels
Since September, TV brands have been continuously preparing for the year-end promotion peak season demand, thereby maintaining a relatively stable level of TV panel purchasing momentum. The panel factories have also adopted a more proactive attitude in panel production and shipment in the past two months, effectively alleviating the pressure of panel price decline since the second quarter. Based on current observations, the TV panel prices in September are expected to remain flat across the board.
Display panel
Since the third quarter, the demand for display (MNT) panels has shown a relatively weak trend. However, for panel manufacturers, the mainstream size specifications are still in a loss-making state at present. Therefore, the production intentions of most panel manufacturers are low, resulting in a relatively tight supply of mainstream FHD models, but the panel prices are not easy to rise.
With the demand for TV panels beginning to stabilize and increase in the third quarter, brand customers have realized that there is not much room for price decline in the short term. Both buyers and sellers have a clearer consensus on the idea of maintaining stable prices. Therefore, it is currently expected that the price of MNT panels in September will continue to remain stable.
Laptop panel
The demand for laptop (NB) panels remained strong in the third quarter. Amid the uncertainty of semiconductor policies, brand customers have become more proactive in their purchasing attitude and are hoping to secure more favorable terms from panel manufacturers by maintaining a strong order demand.
From the perspective of panel manufacturers, as they continuously compete for customer orders and have long offered price discounts to brand customers under the table, the overall discount space is actually gradually shrinking. Under the pressure of competition, even if customer demand remains good, panel manufacturers are not likely to make price increase requests. Overall, it is expected that panel demand in September will still be strong, so it is estimated that panel prices can remain at the stable level.
