Consumer DDR4 prices may increase by 40% to 45% quarter-on-quarter. The latest forecast for DRAM pro

Date Time:2025.07.09

The demand for DDR4 remained strong in the third quarter, and original manufacturers intended to increase the price increase.

According to the latest survey by TrendForce, as the three major DRAM original manufacturers shift their production capacity towards high-end products and successively announce that DDR4 for PC/Server and LPDDR4X for Mobile have entered the end of their product life cycle (EOL), the market is actively stocking up on older generation products. Coupled with the stocking momentum during the traditional peak season, This will push up the price of Conventional DRAM by 10% to 15% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter of 2025. If HBM is included, the overall increase in DRAM prices will rise by 15% to 20% quarter-on-quarter.

TrendForce stated that the demand for DDR4 remained strong in the third quarter, and original manufacturers intended to increase the price increase. In the short term, DDR4 will still be in short supply as the production capacity of manufacturers cannot be fully coordinated and the capacity of some manufacturers' products is too small to meet the specifications required by customers. In addition, as DDR4 is currently prioritized to meet Server demands, the supply to Consumer applications is limited. Coupled with the relatively small order scale of Consumers, buyers lack bargaining power. It is expected that the price of Consumer DDR4 will increase by 40% to 45% quarter-on-quarter in the third quarter. Compared with the new-generation DDR5 products with concentrated production capacity, the price increase in the third quarter was relatively moderate, presenting a market pattern where the price trends of new and old product generations are differentiated.
